COLUMBUS
COOKIE CLASSIC
When we surveyed bakers and tasters after our inaugural Columbus Cookie Classic, two pieces of feedback rose to the top: people want more chances to compete, and they really want a brownie competition. Since brownies aren’t cookies (we will die on this hill), we’re officially branching out.
Starting in 2026, we’ll host two competitions each year: a new Columbus Baking Classic for baked goods other than cookies, and our existing Columbus Cookie Classic devoted exclusively to cookies.
Like last year, the goal of both competitions is to celebrate Columbus’s most passionate amateur bakers. Created by two ribbon-winning bakers, the competitions are designed as a fun, creative, and engaging alternative to traditional fair contests—complete with ribbons, cash prizes, bragging rights, and plenty of community spirit! Read on to learn about the dates, baking categories, and nonprofit partners for 2026!
